Users & organization
Invite teammates, manage roles and permissions, departments, and notifications.
- Configure your notification preferencesUnder Settings → Notifications, choose which channel each event reaches you on — in-app, email, or both — and set your email digest frequency. Some critical security and payment alerts stay on. In-app notifications always deliver immediately; the digest applies to email only.
- Create a custom roleUnder Settings → Roles, choose New role, give it a name and description, set its information access level, and turn on the View/Edit permissions it needs per area. Save, then assign it to members. You can edit or delete custom roles, but not built-in ones.
- Invite users to your organizationIn Settings → User Management, click Invite User, enter their email, pick a role, and set how long the invite stays valid. New people get an email to sign up; people who already have a Flamingo account accept your invite in-app.
- Manage departmentsUnder Settings → Departments you can create departments, give each a name, and optionally assign a department head. Departments organize your team and can act as approvers in approval policies.
- Manage your team (users)Under Settings → User Management you can invite teammates, set each person’s role, suspend or remove members, and track pending invitations. You’ll need the User Management permission.
- Roles and permissions explainedA role is a named set of permissions assigned to each member. Flamingo ships built-in roles (Owner, Admin, HR Manager, Finance Manager, Recruiter, and more) that can’t be edited, and you can create your own. Roles are assigned per organization.
- Working with multiple organizationsOne login can belong to several organizations, each with its own role. Switch between them with the organization switcher in the sidebar, and create another organization from there with New organization.
