Log and submit your timesheets

1 min read · Updated Jun 2026

Add a timesheet for each piece of work: pick your contract, project, and task, choose the date, and enter either start/end times or a number of hours. It goes to your client as Pending for approval.

Timesheets are how you record the work you’ve done. Each entry goes to your client to approve.

Add a timesheet

  1. Go to your Timesheets and click Add Timesheet.
  2. Fill in the entry:
  • Contract — which engagement the work is for.
  • Project — the project the work belongs to (see Projects and how you log time to them).
  • Task name — a short description of what you did.
  • Work date — the day you did the work.
  • Time or hours — either enter start and end times, or a fixed number of hours.
  1. Save it. Your timesheet is submitted to your client for review.

What the statuses mean

  • Pending — submitted and waiting for your client to review.
  • Approved — your client has signed off on the hours.
  • Rejected — your client sent it back; fix it and resubmit.

Editing and deleting

  • You can edit a timesheet only while it’s Pending or Rejected — once approved, it’s locked.
  • You can delete a Pending timesheet if you added it by mistake (including in bulk).

Note: Log your time accurately and promptly. Approved hours are what count toward your project and, where applicable, what you’re paid for — so getting them in on time keeps everything moving.

For how your approved time can relate to getting paid, see How invoicing works (statuses explained).
