Projects and how you log time to them

1 min read · Updated Jun 2026

Projects are set up by your client to organize work. You don’t create them — you simply pick the right project each time you log a timesheet, and your approved hours are tracked against it.

Projects are how your client organizes the work you do. You don’t create or manage projects — your client sets them up — but you choose one every time you log your time.

How you use projects

  • When you add a timesheet, you select the project the work belongs to (along with the contract and a task).
  • Only active projects appear in the list, and you’ll only see projects for the client you’re working with.
  • Your approved hours are tracked against that project, giving your client a clear view of the work.

If a project is missing

If you can’t find the right project when logging time, it may not have been created yet or may be archived. Reach out to your client so they can add it or make it active.

Note: Picking the correct project keeps your time organized and makes approval faster. If you’re unsure which project to choose, ask your client.

For the full steps on logging your hours, see Log and submit your timesheets.
