Download and connect the desktop agent
Install the Flamingo desktop agent, then pair it from the Link Device page: generate a single-use pairing code in the web app and enter it in the agent. Once connected, you start a tracking session in the agent by choosing your contract and project.
The Flamingo desktop agent runs on your computer and syncs your tracked time and activity while you work. Connecting it takes two steps: install the app, then pair it with your account.
Step 1 — Download and install
Get the desktop app from the Download App option in the top bar (or from step 1 of the Link Device page). Versions are available for macOS and Windows (and Linux). Install it like any other application.
Step 2 — Pair the agent with your account
Pairing links the installed agent to *your* Flamingo account:
- In the web app, open Link Device and make sure your active employer is selected.
- Click Generate Pairing Code. You’ll get a short code in the form XXXX-XXXX.
- Open the desktop agent, choose Link Account, and enter the code.
A few things about the code:
- It’s single-use — once redeemed, it can’t be used again.
- It expires after a few minutes (a countdown shows “Expires in …”). If it lapses, just click Generate New Code.
- After several wrong attempts a code is invalidated for security — generate a fresh one.
Step 3 — Start a session
The agent doesn’t track anything on its own. To begin, start a session in the agent and choose the contract and project you’re working on. Tracking runs only while your session is active — ending the session stops it. Your tracked time syncs automatically to your timesheets.

Note: Pairing codes are short-lived and single-use on purpose — never share one. If your code expires before you finish, generating a new one takes a second.
