Something went wrong — what to do
If you hit an unexpected error, try again — most errors are temporary. If it keeps happening, copy the Trace ID shown on the error and include it when you contact support so we can find exactly what went wrong.
Most errors are temporary and clear up on a second try. If you see a message like “Something went wrong” or “An unexpected error occurred. Please try again,” work through the steps below before reaching out.
First, try these
- Try the action again. Many errors are momentary — clicking Try Again or reloading the page often resolves it.
- Refresh the page (or close and reopen the tab).
- Check your internet connection — a dropped connection mid-action is a common cause.
- Sign out and back in if the problem continues, in case your session is stale — see You’ve been logged out or your session expired.
If it’s a specific kind of error
- “You don’t have permission” — your account doesn’t have the required access. See Why can’t I do this? Access and permission errors.
- A form won’t save and fields are highlighted — those are validation errors. See Why won’t my form save?.
- “You’re moving too fast” — you’ve made too many requests in a short time. Wait a moment, then try again.
If it keeps happening — copy the Trace ID
When an error persists, the quickest way for our team to help is the Trace ID. Many error messages include one (sometimes shown with a copy button) — it’s a unique reference that points to exactly what happened on our side.
- Copy the Trace ID from the error message.
- Note what you were doing when it appeared (the page and the action).
- Reach out to support — you can use the Contact Support button on the error screen, or the Need help? button in the app — and paste the Trace ID into your message.
Note: A Trace ID turns “it’s not working” into something we can look up instantly. Including it — plus what you were trying to do — is the single biggest thing that speeds up a fix.
