Monitor team productivity with Productivity Insights
Productivity Insights shows tracked activity from the desktop agent: effective, idle, and away time, top productive and unproductive apps and sites, a daily timeline, blurred screenshot previews, and recent projects and timesheets — for the whole team or one person.
Once contractors connect the desktop agent, Productivity Insights gives the client a live picture of tracked work. Businesses find it under Attendance → Productivity Insights (with the productivity View Reports permission).
If you’re a contractor, this article is also for you — it describes exactly what your client sees from your tracked sessions, so there are no surprises. Your own view of the same data is the My Productivity page.
Team view
The team view summarizes everyone’s tracked activity: overall trends, top apps and sites across the org, who’s currently active, and tracked-time rankings — so you can see at a glance where time is going.
Individual view
Selecting a person (or opening Productivity from their talent profile) drills in:
- Time metrics — Effective Time, Idle Time, and Away Time, with activity percentages.
- Activity classification — time split across Productive, Unproductive, and Neutral apps and sites (see how classification works in Classify apps and websites for productivity).
- Timeline — the day in 10-minute slots, showing when they were active.
- Recent screenshots — periodic captures from the agent, shown as blurred previews in the dashboard.
- Recent projects and timesheets — how the tracked time maps to projects and synced timesheets.
Where the data comes from
Everything here is captured by the desktop agent during sessions the worker starts (tied to a contract and project) — see Download and connect the desktop agent. Daily summaries are generated the morning after the activity, so today’s numbers finalize overnight.
For the full list of what is and isn’t collected, see What the desktop agent collects — and what it doesn’t.
Note: Screenshot previews are intentionally blurred in the dashboard to balance oversight with worker privacy. Workers see their own daily summaries too, so the same picture is visible on both sides.
