- Add a payment methodAdd a credit/debit card or a US bank account (ACH) under Company → Payment methods, then set one as your primary. You need the Manage payments permission. Fees differ by method — card vs ACH.
- Complete your business profileThe business onboarding wizard walks you through company details, online presence, associated people, tax & currency, a payment method, and business verification — seven short steps, saved as you go.
- Create your company accountSign up choosing the Company role, then complete the short Account Setup with your company name, industry, and registered address.
- Getting started: set up your companyThree steps get you ready to pay: create your company account, verify your business, and add a payment method. Verification is what unlocks payments.
- How and when you’re chargedFlamingo doesn’t use a prepaid wallet. When you approve a payroll run or pay an invoice, the amount is charged to your default payment method — and your business must be verified first.
- How contractor subscriptions workA contractor subscription is a monthly platform fee you pay for each active contractor, based on the plan you choose when adding them. You only pay for active contractors — and it’s separate from invoice processing fees and FX.
- How currency conversion and the FX buffer workWhen an invoice currency differs from your billing currency, Flamingo converts at the mid-market rate plus a 1% FX spread, and adds a 1% FX buffer to cover rate movement before settlement. Both are your company’s cost and appear in the payroll preview.
- Payment processing fees (card vs ACH)Bank (ACH) payments cost 1.30% capped at $5.00; card payments cost 2.9% + $0.30. Fees are charged to your company — never deducted from the contractor — and itemized in the payroll preview before you confirm.
- Verify your business (KYB)Business verification (KYB) is a one-time identity check that unlocks the ability to pay. Persona reviews your company details, registration, website, and incorporation documents. Have a valid ID and a smartphone ready; review usually takes 24–48 hours.
