Request time off

1 min read · Updated Jun 2026

Book time off by choosing your contract, a leave type, and your dates (with hours per day). Add an optional note and any supporting documents, then submit — your client reviews and approves it.

When you need time away, you can submit a time-off request for your client to review.

Book time off

  1. Go to your Time off and click Book time off.
  2. Fill in the request:
  • Contract — which engagement the time off is for.
  • Leave type — for example Time off, Sick, Parental leave, Maternity, Paternity, Unpaid, Bereavement, and more.
  • Dates — pick your date range; you can adjust the hours per day (defaults to a full day).
  • Note — optionally add a note for your manager.
  • Documents — attach supporting files if needed (e.g. PDF, Word, Excel, or images).
  1. Click Submit request.

What the statuses mean

  • Draft — saved but not yet submitted.
  • Pending — submitted and waiting for your client to review.
  • Approved — your client approved the time off.
  • Declined — your client declined the request.
  • Cancelled — the request was cancelled.

You can view your requests in a list or on a calendar, and see public holidays for reference.

Note: Submit time-off requests with as much notice as you can, and add a note or documents when it helps your client understand the request. Your client reviews and approves time off — see how on their side under "Review and approve time-off requests."
