What information we collect about a contractor — and why

We collect personal, identity, payout, and tax details to onboard and pay a contractor, verify who we’re paying (KYC), and stay compliant. We only collect what’s needed — see the Flamingo Privacy Policy.
Adding a contractor means collecting some information about them. Here’s what we collect, why, and how it’s protected.
What we collect
- Personal & contact details — name, email, phone, address, and country.
- Identity verification — a government ID and a selfie, checked through our verification partner, Persona.
- Payout details — the contractor’s bank account.
- Tax & registration details — tax ID or business registration number, where applicable.
- Engagement documents — the contract and any supporting documents or receipts.
Why we collect it
- To onboard and pay — set up the profile, generate the contract, and send payouts.
- To verify identity and prevent fraud — as a platform that processes payments, we’re required to confirm who we’re paying (KYC).
- To stay compliant — meet tax and regulatory requirements in the contractor’s country.
We follow a privacy-by-design approach and only collect what’s needed for these purposes.
Your privacy
- See the Flamingo Privacy Policy for how we handle and protect personal data.
- Identity checks are handled by Persona — see Persona’s privacy policy. Your client sees the document used for verification, but not the selfie.
Note: Contractors enter their own identity, bank, and document details during their onboarding — to get started you only provide the basics (name, email, country).
