Cancel or reinstate a contract

Cancel a draft or unsigned contract with a reason. You can reinstate a cancelled contract within 30 days, then re-sign.
Cancel a contract that hasn’t gone active yet — and reinstate it later if you change your mind, within 30 days.
Cancel a contract
- Open the contract (status Draft, Pending signature, or Upcoming) and choose Cancel contract.
- Enter a reason (required).
- Confirm — the contract moves to Cancelled.
Reinstate a cancelled contract
- On a cancelled contract, choose Reinstate contract (available for 30 days after cancellation).
- Pick the client signatory and enter a reason.
- A fresh contract is generated for both parties to re-sign.
Warning: The reinstatement window is 30 days. After that, the Reinstate option disappears and you’ll need to add the contractor again.
