Why was my bank account rejected?
1 min read · Updated Jun 2026
If your bank shows "Verification failed" or "Errored," the details are usually wrong or the account can’t receive payouts. Read the error, fix the details, and re-add the account.
If a bank account can’t be used for payouts, it shows a red Verification failed or Errored status, with an explanation under the account card ("Payouts undeliverable").
Common reasons
- Invalid account number — the routing number matches a bank, but the account number is invalid.
- No account found — the bank account details on file are likely incorrect.
- Account restricted — typically a savings or other non-checking account that limits payouts.
- Debit not authorized, account closed, or account frozen — your bank needs to allow the transfer.
How to fix it
- Read the exact message shown under the account.
- Confirm your account holder name, account number, and routing / SWIFT with your bank.
- Add a corrected account (you can delete the failed one) and confirm it with the emailed code.
Warning: If the bank declined the transfer, contact your bank before retrying — the issue is on the account, not on Flamingo.
