What currency will I be paid in, and how does the exchange rate work?
You’re paid in the currency of your bank account. If your client bills in a different currency, Flamingo converts the amount and shows you the exact figure and exchange rate before you submit.
You’re always paid in the currency of your bank account. If your client bills in a different currency, Flamingo converts the amount for you and shows the exact figure and exchange rate before you submit — so there are no surprises.
How your payout currency is decided
Your payout currency follows the bank account you set up to receive payments — for example:
- A Philippine bank account → PHP
- A US bank account → USD
You don’t choose a currency separately; it’s tied to your bank account’s country.
How the exchange rate works
- Open Payment & Withdrawal and check the currency on your bank account (shown as, for example, "PH PHP").
- When you submit an invoice that needs conversion, the form shows the converted amount, the exchange rate, and the date the rate was taken.
- That rate is locked at submission, so the figure you see is the figure you’re working toward.
Note: Small differences between the rate at submission and the rate at final settlement are absorbed by Flamingo — you receive the amount quoted to you when you submitted.
When you get paid
After your client approves and funds the invoice, the payout is sent to your bank in your local currency.
