Why we ask for your information

2 min read · Updated Jun 2026

We only ask for what we need to set you up, verify it’s really you, keep your account secure, and pay you correctly. Here’s what each part of your profile is for — and how your information is protected.

When you complete your profile, we ask for a few details. We keep it to the minimum needed to onboard you, confirm your identity, and make sure you get paid — nothing more. Here’s what each part is for.

Personal information

We collect your full name, date of birth, gender, and nationality.

  • Name and date of birth identify you and must match your ID so we can verify it’s really you.
  • Nationality helps us apply the right requirements for your location.

This information also appears on your contract so your agreement is accurate and legally valid.

Contact details

We collect your personal email, phone number, and home address (and optionally a work email or phone).

  • Email and phone are how we and your client reach you about your contract, invoices, and payments.
  • Home address is needed for your contract and for compliance and tax purposes.

Identity verification

After your profile, you’ll verify your identity with a government ID and a quick selfie. This confirms you are who you say you are, protects your account from fraud or impersonation, and is a standard requirement before you can be paid. See Verify your identity.

Bank and payout details

To receive payouts, you’ll add your bank account details. We use these only to send your money to the right place — see Add or update your bank account.

How your information is protected

Your data is stored securely and used only to run your engagement on Flamingo — onboard you, verify you, keep your account secure, and pay you. We don’t sell it. You can read the full details in the Flamingo Privacy Policy. Identity checks are handled by our verification partner, Persona, under their Privacy Policy.

Note: We only ever ask for what we genuinely need to get you set up and paid. If a field is optional, it will be marked as such — everything else helps verify your identity or complete your contract.
