Why can’t I do this? Access and permission errors

1 min read · Updated Jun 2026

If you see “You don’t have permission,” your account’s role doesn’t include access to that page or action. Permissions are set by your organization’s admin — ask them to grant the access you need.

If you try to open a page or take an action and see “You Don’t Have Permission” — *“Your account doesn’t have the access level required to view this page or perform this action”* — it’s not a bug. It means your role doesn’t include that permission.

Why this happens

Access in Flamingo is based on roles. Each role grants a specific set of permissions (for example, viewing talents, approving invoices, or managing payments). If an action isn’t included in your role, the app blocks it and shows the permission message instead.

This is intentional — it keeps sensitive actions (like paying invoices or changing company details) limited to the right people.

What to do

  1. Confirm what you were trying to do. The page or action you were blocked from tells your admin exactly which permission you need.
  2. Ask your organization’s admin to review your role and grant the required access. Admins manage roles and permissions for your company.
  3. Once your access is updated, refresh the page (or sign out and back in) so the new permissions take effect.

Note: Only your organization’s admins can change roles and permissions. If you believe you should already have access, let your admin know which page or action was blocked so they can check your role.

If the page loads but a specific button is missing or disabled, that’s usually the same cause — your role doesn’t include that particular action.

For anything that still looks broken after your access is corrected, see Something went wrong — what to do.
